Treadly Treadmills – Looking at the World’s Thinnest Treadmills

Treadly Treadmills

November 16, 2019

Treadly is a newer entrant into the fitness world with their series of super-thin treadmills. In fact, they say they are the world's thinnest treadmill that will fit under almost any furniture. If you’re looking to conserve space, they could be a great addition to your home gym, treadmill desk or workstation.

About Treadly

Treadly is an American company that is based in New Jersey. They have established their own unique space in the home treadmill market by specializing in ultra-thin, compact and slimline treadmills. The patented minimalistic Treadly design means that anyone can train on one of their treadmills, regardless of how limiting their exercise space happens to be.

It should be noted here that Treadly treadmills are not running, but walking treadmills. The maximum speed with the handrails activated is 5 miles per hour, while when the handrails are lowered the max speed is 3.7 miles per hour.

There are three variants of the Treadly treadmill. Each offers the same unit, with extra add ons:

  • Treadly Treadmill
  • Treadly+ Treadmill
  • Treadly + w/Watch Treadmill

Treadly charge $28.99 for delivery anywhere in the continental United States.

Treadly Treadmill

Key Specs:

  • Dimensions: 55” L x 25” W x 3.8” H
  • Motor: 350 WT
  • Max weight: 220 lbs.
  • Running Belt: 47” L x 18.5” W
  • Speed: 0-5 mph

The Treadly comes in a very sleek design that looks great in any environment. It is very lightweight at just 55 pounds. That is about a third of the weight that you’d get with a conventional treadmill. The dimensions of this treadmill are also impressively compact with a width of 25 inches and a height when the side rails are not engaged, of just 3.8 inches. That makes it perfect for even the tightest of spaces.

The Treadly features a collapsible hydraulic handlebar to provide you with more stability when you are exercising. The positioning of the bar affects the maximum speed of the treadmill. When it is collapsed the top speed is 3.7 miles per hour. When it is engaged that max speed goes up to 5 miles per hour.

The handlebars on the Treadly are not designed to be removed. They come pre-assembled, making the overall assembly on the Treadly very user-friendly.

The running belt of the Treadly has dimensions of 18.5 inches wide by 47.5 inches in length. That is quite limiting, especially for people who are taller than 5’10”. Even when walking, it will prove to be quite restrictive to their natural stride length. People who are 5’10” or under will be able to get a good walking stride going with this machine, however.

The Treadly also makes use of proximity sensors to keep you safe. Sensors are strategically placed around the edges of the running belt. When they detect that you are getting too close to the edge of the belt, the motor will automatically slow down.

The Treadly provides you with three stepping location zones:

  • Slow
  • Normal
  • Fast

Sensors will detect whether you are walking or jogging. To speed up you simply move to the front of the running bed. Keeping in the center of the belt will maintain a constant speed while moving to the back will slow the belt down.

While there is no conventional console on the Treadly, there is an LCD display at the top of the running belt that displays your time, steps and distance.

The motor on the Treadly is impressively quiet. This means that you can work out while the other members of your family are watching TV without driving them crazy!

The max user weight of 220 pounds is what you’d expect from a lightweight treadmill but not very competitive for a treadmill at this price point.

The Treadly comes with a 12-month warranty. This is very short compared to the industry standard of at least 2 years.

The Treadly is a good option if you’re looking for a walking treadmill that can also be used as an under-desk model. It should be noted that, because the working parts in the underside of the Treadly are closer to the ground that you find on most treadmills, this unit is not designed to be operated on a rug or carpet. It should only be operated on a hard, flat surface.

Treadly+ Treadmill

The Treadly+ is the next step up version of the standard Treadly. It adds the following features:

  • Bluetooth Functionality
  • The Treadly IOS app

Treadly+ Treadmill + Watch

This package gives you the following in addition to the Treadly Treadmill:

  • Bluetooth Functionality
  • The Treadly IOS app
  • Treadly Wrist Watch

The Treadly watch allows you to control the speed of your workout from your wrist.

What Others Are Saying

Despite not being on the market for long, there are a large number of online reviews for the Treadly treadmill. The vast majority of those reviews are very positive. Most commonly mentioned are the sleek look and cool design of the Treadly, along with the great customer service that Treadly provides and the compact design of the machine.

In terms of issues that reviewers mentioned on the Treadly, several people mentioned that the transportation wheels only move in one direction, the sensor-based speed change depending on your position on the running belt being a little tricky and the tight walking space for taller people on the running belt.

Final Thoughts

The Treadly slimline treadmill offers a unique entry into the home treadmill market. This is a slimline, stylish machine that offers a quality walking or light jogging workout for those who are not after a full cardio session. It can also be used as an under-desk treadmill. If you’re after a gentle workout machine that’s versatile, compact and super stylish, the Treadly fits the bill.
